Wasn't Julia Gillard going to wear out her shoe leather selling her Carbon Tax to the Australian people? On her first foray to a shopping centre surrounded by minders, and when confronted by a lone elderly lady she scurried/zipped back to Canberra. Apart from the other good things that came from this, it did save the taxpayers forking out on new shoes, except for the ones that were lost when her staff caused a mini race riot on Australia Day 2012 when again lying about Tony Abbott. Some things never change.
