London is losing its collective shit, as residents struggle to cope with a torturous heatwave. A torturous heatwave that has seen temperatures hit 30 DEGREES CELSIUS. And if that doesn’t make you feel for our Pommy brothers and sisters, yesterday things got so bad, the mercury actually soared to a massive 35 THIRTY FIVE.

Severe weather warnings have been issued. Citizens have been instructed to wear less clothing and drink more water. Articles are being written with titles like “How to survive in the city when it’s hotter than the Sahara.” People are saying their goodbyes to family and loved ones. THIS IS BAD YOU GUYS.

That is a heatwave for London. The houses are built to retain heat and many houses wouldn't have air con. Windows aren't designed to be opened up for breezes either. It's kind of like when we complain about the cold if it drops below 10 in winter.
I'm in London now and was at Madame Tussaud's on Wednesday. I've been in 49* in the north of WA, so I know hot, but it was just gross at 35* in London. No air con, double glazing, warm drinks and concrete streets trapping heat with 14 million bodies moving around. It was hot, plain and simple, and very few English people were dressed for it. I sympathized with the Poms, it was a whole 'nother level of yuck!
