The prince has arrived, and now the photographs have too… And he is adorable.
The Duchess of Cambridge, wearing a red dress, smiled at hundreds of well-wishers and assembled journalists as she left the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s hospital holding her baby this morning, just seven hours after the birth.
Prince William was there by her side and put the boy, strapped into a car seat, into a waiting car.
“Thrice the worry now,” Prince William told reporters, holding up three fingers with a smile, as he got into a Land Rover to take his wife and newborn back to Kensington Palace.
“We didn’t keep you waiting too long this time.”
He kept quiet about the baby's name, however, telling reporters they'll have to wait.
"Very happy, very excited, thank you," he said. When asked about a name for the boy, Prince William said: "You'll find out sooner or later."
Beautifully, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton's outfit seemingly pays homage to Prince William's late mum, Diana Princess of Wales, who wore a similar dress when she left hospital after the birth of Prince Harry, Prince William's brother, in September 1984.
She was leaving the same hospital, St. Mary's, dressed also in red and white with Prince Charles beside her. The photographs are, once again, adorable.
Bookmakers have made Albert, Arthur, Jack and Fred the favoured names for a boy.
The baby was born at 11.01am and weighed 3.8 kg. Prince William was present for the birth in west London where their other two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were also born.

Can this girl wear a coloured dress and not be accused of "paying homage" to Diana? Jeez. It's a red dress. Quit dragging up Diana at every turn.
Every time I see mention of Diana in this way, I get the urge to start singing Let It Go. And NOBODY wants that. You have been warned, MM!
Not to mention, every time they reference Kate or Meghan "paying homage" or giving a "subtle nod" to Diana, they're essentially suggesting that they are trying to *be* like Diana... which, in the context of a woman who is sleeping with one of Diana's sons, is kind of creepy.
