Just asking: What were your BEST and WORST moments of the week?

BEST: The dust storm. I know that’s a bit of a weird ‘best’ because it was messy and inconvenient and made some people very sick. But it certainly was visually spectacular. All that orange sky. And it brought a city together in that Olympics 2000 way. Except with more coughing. Still, as Richard Glover said on ABC radio yesterday “Sometimes it’s good for city-folk to experience the might of nature.” Indeed.

I must admit that I am so disconnected from nature that after I was woken by a child at 5am and opened the curtains and saw the bright orange sky, my first thought was “Gee, is that what sunrise looks like? How impressive. Look what I’ve been missing out on all these years by trying to sleep through it.”

WORST: Not knowing what to say to friends who are going through a very tough time emotionally with one of their kids. Wish I had a magic wand.

Worst: E left for the army last Tuesday which has put me into a bubble in which I have refused to do much of anything (including turning my computer on) This has been quite very nearly the worst week ever... It is so hard to without him. The hardest part is not having him there to talk to....
Best: Moving into our new house with beautiful friends who have promised to be my family. They have been taking cae of me sooo well. I owe them a massive debt of gratitude for all the hugs, cups of tea and fireman carry's up to bed (I didn't want to get into an empty bed)
