FLUFF: Forget the budget, let's talk about Julie Bishop's new hair.

KIDDING.

Almost-definitely KIDDING.

Obviously, the most important thing that happened last night was Joe Hockey announcing the 2014 budget. He detailed many savage cuts – to welfare payments, foreign aid, parental leave – but the most talked about cut of the night was Julie’s.

A lot of people tweeted about Julie Bishop‘s new pixie-like haircut. Including legit political journalists, for the record.

Let’s kick off with Mamamia’s own Jamila Rizvi, who received so many tweets about the Julie Bishop Hair last night, she tweeted this:

Overwhelming number of ppl tweeting me re @julie_bishop‘s new hair. I love a good new do but am sticking w/ numbers tonight. #Budget2014

— Jamila Rizvi (@JamilaRizvi) May 13, 2014

But our Rosie Waterland had it covered:

.@JamilaRizvi says she will not talk about @JulieBishopMP‘s hair right now, so allow me: She has some. #Budget2014 — Rosie Waterland (@RosieWaterland) May 13, 2014

And here are some more tweets about Julie’s hair…

(Hey. We didn’t say it was important. We said it’s a thing that happened.)

It’s shallow but I am already distracted by Julie Bishop’s new hair. #auspol — David Rolph (@dkrolph) May 13, 2014

Even though it’s politically incorrect, must say I love @JulieBishopMP‘s new hair! & I don’t even vote for her mob. Ok back to Budget. #fb — Keith Tan (@hkeithtan) May 13, 2014

OBVIOUSLY the most important thing Julie Bishop does for this country is be its foreign minister. But – relevant or not – her hair looks kind-of fabulous, no?

"He detailed many savage cuts - to welfare payments, foreign aid, parental leave".....ummm I think they are bringing in a more generous parental leave, not cutting it!!!
