Joni Mitchell is not in a coma, and is 'expected to make a full recovery.'

“A full recovery is expected” for the singer.

UPDATE:

Joni Mitchell’s official website has confirmed the singer is not in a coma and is expected to make a full recovery.

TMZ reported the singer was in a coma and unresponsive after she was hospitalised earlier this month, however Mitchell’s official site has released a statement to say this is not true.

TMZ are reporting that parademics responded to a 911 call about an unconscious woman and took her to hospital.

Her condition, according to TMZ, is “quite serious.”

Variety wrote: “A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed that paramedics responded to an emergency 911 call on Mitchell’s street in Bel Air at about 2:30 on Tuesday, but was unable to confirm her condition.”

Mitchell is an eight-time Grammy award winner known for classic folk songs like “Big Yellow Taxi” and “The Circle Game”.

Our thoughts are with Mitchell and her family at this time.

Joni's one of my favorite artists and I play her stuff over & over (mostly the earlier tracks.).
This brilliant woman with her unusual vocals and complex writing style & superb musicianship will always be one of my major inspirations..........I usually present a compilation of her work to evolving composer/musicians since I feel it's a kind of masterclass .

"Big Yellow Taxi" was one of the 1st songs about the degradation of our environment and for me it's not her greatest effort but it got people to recognize her at least

Fingers crossed for Joni..........so many of us are loyal fans and feel she has a lot of music left to create yet.
