With facial piercings like that, how does this guy manage to swallow water?

And in today’s example of a person who has permanently changed their body in a way they definitely won’t regret in their 50’s, we have Joel Miggler.

Also called the ‘Bodymoded Punky‘, Joel is a 23-year-old extreme body artist from Germany. And ‘extreme’ is not an exaggeration.

Now, this guy’s piercings are intense. There are TWO GIANT HOLES in his cheeks, so we’re going to make you scroll down for your own protection. It’s definitely NSFW. And probably also NSFL (not suitable for life):

Okay, here it is:

We’re calling it: This is worse than the guy who put a massive hole in his chin.

All in all, Joel has 27 piercings, 6 tattoos, a SPLIT TONGUE, a bunch of ‘implants’ (whatever that means) and a ‘branded buttocks’.

As for those holes, he’s been stretching them a little bit at a time since he was 13. Apparently he has to take smaller bites when eating, and he needs to put caps on them when drinking water, but other than that, he doesn’t notice them.

Take a look at some of Joel’s other ‘work’. You know you want to…

This is not just piercings - this guy has deep problems. Any modification that goes that far tells me there is something he is feeding emotionally. I don't have a problem with piercings but this is extreme and frankly- very ugly.

There's a lot of hate for body modifications on this website and it's really upsetting. Considering how ordinarily mamamia promotes body positivity and is against body shaming, it's so disappointing to see these posts making fun oh body modifications.

I normally love mamamia, but if a place like mamamia can't accept body mods it makes me feel like nowhere will.

Why not consider promoting body positivity for ALL bodies, whether; big, small, tall, short, pierced, stretched or tattooed.

Totally agree with you Monique. Narrow-minded people.

Agreed. I'm dissapointed there aren't more comments like this on this article. You don't have to get tatts or stretchers, but don't be a dick to those who do. There are bigger problems to worry about.

Gobsmacked me with you response there, Luxxe. Would not have expected you to fall on that side of this issue.

Well there you go. Stereotyping people is never a good idea.
