She was meant to attach her CV to the email. She accidentally attached this instead...

Public Service Announcement: This is why you do NOT apply for a job on an empty stomach.

Last week Scottish teen Heather McNab made one of the greatest – and funniest – job application fails of all time.

The 18-year-old was applying for a job as a letting and sales negotiator with a company called Bastion, but instead of attaching her CV to her application email, she attached a recipe for Jamie Oliver’s Chilli Beef.

Oh Heather. We’ve all been there.

Related: Jamie Oliver food flashmob.

But while we’re sure the chilli is spectacular, Heather’s potential employer didn’t seem to appreciate her sharing it. Perhaps they aren’t chilli fans?

The teen managed to keep a sense of humour about the epic stuff-up and her original tweet has already been retweeted more than 10,000 times.

And even better, everyone’s favourite lisping British chef has also chimed in, tweeting that Heather deserved the job because “that stew can do anything”.

We’re still waiting to hear if she landed the job – but we probably won’t hold our breath. Even with the Jamie Oliver seal of approval.
