Model Jennifer Hawkins finally breaks her silence on Donald Trump’s victory.

After being surprisingly quiet during the lead up to the US Election on her views about Donald Trump, Jennifer Hawkins has finally broken her silence, saying she isn’t “at all” surprised by Mr Trump’s success. The 32-year-old model, who was crowned Miss Universe in 2004, has said she “never doubted” Mr Trump would win the presidency.

When asked about the election result and her feelings towards it, she told The Daily Mail, “I wasn’t surprised at all.”

She also said that she would get in touch with the President-elect to congratulate him on his win soon, saying that she had not yet had a chance to do so.

She was speaking from an event in Sydney last night.

It is one of the first times, Hawkins has made her political views known. In the past she has praised Mr Trump but refused to comment on whether she supported him politically.

The friendship between the two goes back far.

In 2011 Mr Trump told 60 Minutes that "Jennifer is the most beautiful Miss Universe that I've seen in many, many years."

"She was not only beautiful outside but she was also equally beautiful inside. So I don't say that about many. Believe me, we've had our problems with some of them and she was really great."

Earlier this year, Hawkins was asked about Trump on Today Extra. She praised him as a "brilliant businessman" and described him as "charming," telling the hosts "he has presence."

But refusing to answer a question as to whether she supported him politically.

She then commented again during the Spring Carnival telling News Limited that Mr Trump always respected her.

“Donald and his family I have to say, have always been respectful to me,” the former Miss Universe said.

“So as much as everyone wants me to bag him, it's not in my nature. I don't like drama, I don't like to get into politics publicly, so that's why I've kind of, not avoided it, just haven't openly been out there.”

Another Miss Universe discusses Donald Trump. Post contines...

Her comments came after a lewd video surfaced of Donald Trump humiliating Ms Hawkins.

In the video he tells an audience he had planned on exacting revenge because Hawkins had refused to introduce him at the National Achievers Congress in Sydney in 2011.

“I believe, get even with people, if they screw you, screw them back, 10 times harder. And I'll give you an example, Jennifer Hawkins,” he said.

He then called out for the supermodel to join him on stage and she apologised.

“There was a miscommunication, of course I wanted to come here ... I'm sorry,” she said after joining Mr Trump on stage.

Mr Trump then tells guests:

“She came tonight, she came, came, she came, she came,” he said, as the crowd laughs.

“See, so they have the same filthy minds in Australia.”

Trump then attempts to kiss Hawkins but she fends him off and asks to return to her seat.

Hawkins refused to condemn the video after it surfaced her manager Sean Anderson telling Confidential,“Jennifer is not interested and will not be commenting on Donald Trump. She is not interested in getting involved in the politics.”

Perhaps now with her former mentor and boss in the White House she will be more open to expressing her views.

"She would get in touch with him soon to congratulate him". So she still has his number? That says everything really doesn't it? If she was against his views/comments then she wouldn't have said that. By the way, thanks for the old pics of Jen so we can finally see the eye work she's had done. I could never put my finger on what was different on her face lol

Jennifer Hawkins seems more concerned with her business prospects in America than she does with a woman's right to be treated with respect - even her own. She may not have asked for it but she is a high profile role model for young women and in my opinion the message she is sending is not one I would want my daughter to receive. I had considered her a strong business woman that demonstrated what women could achieve, but tolerating what is no more or less than very public work place sexual harassment does women no favours. Some things are just bigger than your own ambitions. So Jennifer Hawkins, while you look after yourself and your brand, singing Donald Trumps praises and giving him credibility, the rest of us with no public profile will do what we can to fight this obnoxious, self serving sexist. Sadly you had a chance to take a stand for women in a less privileged position than you enjoy and you chose to not only do nothing you virtually condoned it. There's nothing beautiful about that.
