Monday's news in just two minutes.

1. Jacinta Saldanha, the UK nurse who took her own life in the wake of the Australian radio prank, reportedly left a suicide note in which she blamed the Austero DJs for her death. The note, which appeared in The Sunday Times, read: “I am truly sorry. Thankyou for all your support. I hold Radio Australians Mel Greig and Michael Christian responsible for this act. Please make them pay my mortgage. I am sorry. Jacintha.”

2. Researchers in the US believe they may be able to train search and rescue dogs to sniff out ovarian cancer in women. Dr. Len Lichtenfeld, of the American Cancer Society, told the Huffington Post it “wasn’t impossible”. “Our bodies produce all sorts of things. Some waste materials are excreted through the kidney [or] the liver, some are excreted through the lungs,” he said. “The concept of there being something that a cancer might produce — a volatile substance [that a dog could smell] — is perhaps not mainstream, but it’s not as far-fetched as it sounds.” Screening for ovarian cancer is difficult at present and most women aren’t diagnosed until they’re in stage three or stage four.

3. A 22 year old woman in El Salvador who needs a lifesaving abortion could face jail time if she goes through with the procedure. The woman is four and a half months pregnant, but doctors recently found the pregnancy is nonviable because the baby is developing without a brain. The woman has also been diagnosed with lupus and kidney disease. Abortion is illegal in El Salvador and the hospital where the woman is being treated has requested legal permission to preform the procedure, but that request has been denied.

4. Prime Minister Julia Gillard is expected to announce a $12 billion tax revenue black hole later today. Last year the government abandoned its three year pledge to have a surplus of $1.1 billion.

5. A group called the Australian Cat Ladies (or ACL) has taken the Australian Christian Lobby‘s former URL of australianchristianlobby.org. The group, who stand for “family values – like hard work, marriage equality, and lots of tummy rubs,” say they are ‘Cat-holics’ not to be confused with ‘Catholics.’ The Australian Cat Ladies reportedly picked up the URL when the Australian Christian Lobby failed to renew it.

6. A sports blogger in the US has reportedly come under fire for claiming a cheerleader was “too chunky” to perform. CBS’ Anna-Megan Raley, who writes under the alias ‘Claire Crawford,’ targeted Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kelsey Williams writing: “If she’s comfortable wearing that tiny outfit and dancing for NBA fans, then good for her” and “The Rockets looked terrible in Game 1, but some say they weren’t the only bad-looking people on the court.”

And just when the dust has started to settle from the stupid DJ prank, all of a sudden a suicide note miraculously appears to bring it into the news once more.
*IF* this suicide note were genuine, (and to me that's a rather big *if* because it really doesn't sit right with me) then how come we're only just hearing about it now, It's been what... 5 months since she committed suicide?
The wording, the timing... the whole thing to me just feels like a massive cash grab from the family and nothing more!
Her involvement in the prank was so limited that her committing suicide over it in the first place was nothing short of a complete and utter over reaction!
I sincerely hope that if/when this is discovered to be a fake then there is a public apology issued to the DJ's involved.

As far as the cheerleader goes... If she's chunky... daaaamn! Sign me up! I wish I looked even half as good as that!!!! :O
