Ivanka Trump's appearance at the G20 summit just made the whole world cringe.

Attending important diplomatic events like the G20 summit requires a certain level of, well, importance.

It is reserved for leaders, heads of state and top-level ministers of the world’s biggest economies, those from other nations they choose to invite and the heads of various international organisations. Basically, to get there usually requires years of hard work, as well as foreign policy and political experience.

Or you could just have the last name Trump.

On Saturday, the French government released a video from the June 28-29 G20 event in Osaka, Japan, that showed US ‘First Daughter’ Ivanka Trump awkwardly conversing with a series of very important people: French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Theresa May, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and International Monetary Fund director Christine Lagarde.

“Democrats, students and foreign allies face the reality of a Trump presidency,” the headline read.

Ivanka didn’t seem to notice (or maybe she just didn’t care) that was a negative headline. Oops.

That ill-timed glamorous photo.

On January 28, 2017, Donald Trump signed an executive order banning Muslims from seven countries from entering the United States.

That night, Ivanka posted a photo of herself and Jared at a black-tie dinner which didn’t go down well.

“Didn’t realise Emma became a rabbi,” a user commented.

Ivanka converted to Orthodox Judaism in 2009 and took the Jewish name “Yael” before marrying her husband Jared Kushner.

She had a little help getting her security clearance.

In April, CNN reported three sources had told them President Donald Trump pressured White House staff to grant Ivanka and Jared security clearances even though it went against their recommendations.

The president has the legal authority to grant clearances, but it is usually left up to the White House personnel security office, which determines whether a staffer should be granted one after the FBI has conducted a background check.

The personnel office raised concerns about Ivanka and Jared, which prompted Trump to push staffers to make the decision on his daughter and son-in-law’s clearances so it did not appear as if he was tainting the process to favour his family, sources told CNN.

Both staffers refused, so Trump granted them their security clearances.

…Oh.

She obviously had no place being there. Now can we please get back to articles about how men must be doing more to mentor younger women and give them opportunities to advance, network and exposure to power?

Genius loves company...which is why she got snubbed. The Trump family seem to live in this bubble where they truly believe they are the masters of the universe. They make such a mockery of the presidential position. Proof that narcissism can be inter-generational.

Lol would that be the genius who helped Greece go bust, the genius who is taking a break from the burning streets and riots in his capital, Paris or the genius who fired his AG for her refusing to drop a corruption case as a favour and now according to polls is far less popular than the Trump you hate?
