Jess Mauboy, Michelle Bridges and Sam Armytage walked the red carpet last night. Fashion risks were taken.

Dresses sparkled, faces glowed and not a hair was out of place at the 6th annual Instyle and Audi Women of Style Awards in Sydney last night.

Jess Mauboy was a vision in sparkly gold. Michelle Bridges went sheer. And Claudia Karvan wore a fancy-ish tracksuit thing we honestly can’t explain in words.

All sparkly guests were given goodie bags worth more than $1500 – filled with such necessities as Nespresso coffee machines, Oroton sunnies and Bobbi Brown beauty bags. Jealous much?

Ah, shuddup, let’s just go through all the amazing dresses:

Here's my take - Rachel Finch and Jessica Mauboy looked gorgeous. So did Melissa Doyle. Didn't like Rachel Griffiths up-do and wish Danielle Spencer would do something different with her hair. Rebecca Gibney looked a bit mumsy. Collette would have nicer dresses than that one? Not sure what to make of Kate Cebrano? Kylie Gillies dress looks like a sack. Sam Armytage is beautiful but the dress made her look big. I liked Jesinta's headpiece but not the poo catcher pants...

It just shows how much the A-list celebrities must spend on styling to look so amazing.
