This Instagram model's real age has her followers stunned.

Nothing gets people on social media excited quite like a woman who looks significantly younger than she is.

Japanese model and social media personality, Risa Hirako, has built an Instagram following of almost 100,000.

Like most popular Instagrammers, Hirako has flawless skin, a lean figure, and particularly youthful looks. Her fans describe her as a ‘real life Barbie‘ and say her appearance is ‘miracle cuteness’, but today, they’re talking about something else entirely.

Because someone dropped a bombshell on Twitter. And fans of the star are losing their goddamn minds.

It turns out the Tokyo-based model is 45 years old.

‘Risa Hirako is 45 years old. Let that blow your mind this morning,’ wrote one Twitter user earlier today. And minds were, in fact, sufficiently blown.

On Instagram, one user commented, ‘There’s no way you’re 45 yrs old… Reports saying that.. If it’s true dammmm you’re doing fine like vintage wine.’

Other comments simply say ’45 YEARS OLD,’ or ‘guess how old she is,’ along with gun and crying face emoji’s.

Another user, who captures my reaction entirely, said: ‘Shit the f**k up.’

Indeed.

It appears Hirako’s youthful appearance might be in the genes, given that her mother, who has featured on Hirako’s Instagram account, also looks incredibly young.

Fans are saying the fashion model could easily pass for half her age, and they’re probably right. At 25, I have more wrinkles than her.

Apparently she maintains a particularly healthy lifestyle, drinking home made juices and teas, wearing organic make up, and eating plenty of fresh food.

On the one hand, I could start living like her and hope to defy age in the next few decades. Or, you know, I could just chill out, have my third coffee of the day and acknowledge that when I’m 45, there’s nothing wrong with looking like it.

Have a look through more (baffling) pictures from Risa’s Instagram page.

If you eat healthy and exercise your cells regenerate properly to keep you looking young. If you don't want to take care of yourself and put in the minimal work to stay looking young that's fine, resign yourself to 'look your age' and make excuses for giving up. But don't make comments about those of us who do take care of ourselves and look great in our 40s.

I could look younger too, if I used a blur filter!
