HR stands for ‘hardly relevant’ these days. Gone are the days of personnel who were there to support and advise the workers. Today’s HR are power-hungry yes people who do management’s dirty work and outsource the real support of workers to EAP providers. Their cold, hard-hearted approach to ‘removing’ no-longer-needed workers makes me wonder what a degree in Human Resources actually teaches these days. How to be an a-hole maybe? I don’t know how HR people sleep at night.

I feel sorry for HR, they are perpetually trapped between trying to show the value of their programs to the CFO and being as popular as leprosy on the office floor.

They seem to be a bit like the town vicar when your sons are all at war, when he turns up unannounced and starts heading towards you, it’s never good news. Same when you see one heading towards someone’s desk.

Most of the ones I know are actually good people just jaded by the work over time.
