The replacements for Hamish and Andy's hit radio show have finally been announced.

After fans were left in tears (no, seriously, they were) at the news that Hamish and Andy would be departing our airwaves, speculation has been rife at who will fill their shoes.

Moving from KIIS FM, Hughsey and Kate, a.k.a. Dave Hughes and Kate Langbroek will step into the time slot in 2018.

In a series of announcements from both ARN and the Hit Network this morning, the radio industry is set for a big year.

Hit Network’s Head of Content, Gemma Fordham, has said that they have a “formidable lineup.

“We are delighted one of radio’s most enduring and hilarious duets, Hughesy and Kate, are joining our new Drive line up for 2018,” she told Radio Today.

“The commute home is when we let go, relax and leave the work day behind and the Hit Network is committed to entertaining all people on their way, whether it is at 3pm, 5pm or 6pm.”

In addition to welcoming Hughsey and Kate, the Network has also announced that Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little will remain with them.

In their short time, Carrie and Tommy have developed a keen audience, who have pushed for their time bracket to be extended by half an hour to 4:30pm.

Happy with this news! It will be exciting to get Hughesy and Kate up in Mackay. Our radio options leave a bit to be desired. Super pumped that Tommy and Carrie are staying too! Will miss H&A but think short commute from work to home will be OK!
