It’s sordid and depressingly predictable.
And, if Gavin Rossdale wasn’t such a technology noob, Gwen Stefani might never have discovered that he’d been schtupping the nanny.
Us Magazine is reporting that Rossdale, 50, had been carrying on an affair with their Australian nanny Mindy Mann, who was employed by the family to care for Stefani and Rossdale’s three kids, Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 20 months, for three years.
In February, Stefani, 46, was made aware of some “explicit texts”, which I believe the kids are calling sexts, between her husband of 13 years and her children’s carer on the family’s iPad.
Among them were nude pictures and plans to rendezvous for sex.
“The iPad was linked to Gavin’s phone,” a family source told Us. “One of the other nannies discovered the exchange and told Gwen.”
The affair time period means that Rossdale and the nanny were doing it while Stefani was pregnant with Apollo. Jerks.
Us Magazine‘s “source”, which could be a slice of ham or a monosyllabic parrot for all we know, reckons that Rossdale denied, denied, denied, calling the sexting mere “flirtation”.
When he finally admitted the affair, Stefani was “mortified, livid and embarrassed”.
“Everybody knows that my life blew up last February. I’d just been dealing with that. Unexpected. I was going along thinking that was going to be the rest of my life and it’s not. I don’t know what happened,” she said on KIIS FM.
Stefani filed for divorce shortly after and has moved on with her The Voice co-star Blake Shelton.
She’s making new music and generally seems pretty swell, actually.

I always thought he looked sleazy, and like he wasn't that into her.
Also any guy who sends anyone, even a woman he is sleeping with, photos of their bits, yuck!
From their body language together, I just get the feeling Gwen spent a lot of time trying to keep him interested when it wouldn't have mattered what she did or how hot she looked it, it wasn't going to work. I also get the feeling that she likes a bit of a bad boy, because she comes across as a bit wild herself, and that is why she married him. But I think if she doesn't equate niceness with being boring then she can find a guy who adores her. This Blake Shelton has a nice friendly face (and is much better looking than Gavin too!), I just hope she doesn't ditch him for some other bad boy.
I realise I don't know her, it is just their is something about her that reminds me of an old friend of mine who every guy she dated had this kind of sleazy look, and then they would turn out to be totally sleazes but she just couldn't find a "good" guy sexy, so she kept repeating the same pattern.
By the way to all those guys who think women just want bad boys, I've never seen the appeal, in fact there is nothing sexier in this world than a guy who genuinely cares about you and treats you well, usually better in bed too because they are genuinely wanting you to have a good time.
