Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani have reached a divorce settlement. #PrayForGavin.

It’s official. Pop star Gwen Stefani, 46, and her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale, 50, have reached a settlement in their divorce.

And what they’ve agreed to will make single mums everywhere fist-pump.

Technically, Rossdale is legally entitled to half of the couple’s assets given that the pair chose to not have a prenuptial agreement 13 years ago when they married. However, according to People magazine, Rossdale walked away with an unequal split of property favouring Stefani; a 50-50 balance of joint custody of their three sons; and he did not request child support.

News of the 20-year-long relationship disintegrating hit tabloids in August last year amidst rumours of infidelity between Rossdale and the couple’s former nanny.

In the wake of their split, Stefani perfectly captured the gut-wrenching feeling of heartbreak in her music. (Post continues after video.)

While Stefani and Rossdale did not cite reasons for their split at the time of news breaking, Stefani did give a telling radio interview with Ryan Seacrest.

“My life blew up in my face,” Stefani said On Air With Ryan Seacrest, “I feel like I don’t have anything to hide,” Stefani said, implying that her upcoming album is laced with clues. “What I will tell you is that I was married for a long time and now I’m not. It was like a shock.”

Meanwhile, according to Radar Online‘s source, Rossdale wasn’t so clever when it came to covering his tracks.

“They were extremely flirty with each other and would go for long drives, alone. There were text messages that Gwen also found on Gavin’s phone that she thought were very incriminating,” a source told the publication in November.

Since then, Stefani has confirmed that she and fellow recent-divorcee Blake Shelton (a country music star) are more than just colleagues on The Voice. In fact, if you listen to The Daily Maila diamond ring and little footsteps could be in store for the pair.

Why is this even deemed worthy of fist pumping in some sort of celebration? I honestly don't get it.

Maybe the result here is a rare example of an amicable divorce. Gavin had huge success with Bush selling millions of records and for everything to have been settled in this way both parties must have chosen not to go after each other. There should be no fist pumping over the dollars saved when both are already millionaires. They should just be happy to have everything finalised and there children not being dragged through a custody battle.
