Baby spa: Where babies can recover from their constant sleeping.

Sometimes, being a baby can be tough.

There’s all that crying and pooping and eating and (maybe) sleeping. And lying on rugs, staring up at fluffy, cuddly things which are just out of your reach.

Happily, there’s a new baby spa that has entered the market to combat all the stress that a baby might experience.

Their activities at the baby spa are both adorable and hilarious:

Babies aged between two weeks and eight months can now go and hang out at Float Baby – a water flotation and gentle massage salon in Houston, Texas. It’s run by Kristi Ison, a certified Instructor of Infant Massage.

At Float Baby, babies are kitted out with waterproof nappies and double-circle flotation devices that fit around their heads. Then they’re popped into a tub where they gently bob around for up to 25 minutes.

Kristi claims that the floating helps babies to thrive in an “already familiar water environment” and means that they can begin to develop, physically and cognitively, before the rest of their peers. According to the website:

– Muscular and skeletal strength are increased

– Subtle water pressure on chest increases lung capacity, strengthening respiratory system

– Regular sessions benefit the cardiovascular system and improve blood flow to the heart

– Cognitive development is increased with critical cross crawl patterns, allowed with our unique device

It’s unclear exactly how the giant baby-head floatie helps with brain development/strength/motor skills, but hey – it’s become ridiculously popular amongst mothers in Texas. Although Kristi first started out the business within her home, it quickly proved so popular that she extended it out to a commercial premises.

Hundreds of clients later, Kristi is now looking at developing multiple franchises of Float Baby across the US.

If you’re keen on trying Float Baby at some point, rest assured that your baby isn’t going to be slumming away in that tub. All babies get to enjoy the following luxuries:

Custom tubs with ozone purified water, anti-microbial towels handmade in Turkey, a laundering system for swim diapers and towels that purifies without the use of detergent’s harmful chemicals, coffee bar, lactation cookies, fresh new blends of our organic oils and MORE!!

Anti-microbial towels from Turkey? Sign us up.

For a full hour’s experience, it’ll set parents back $65 for a group session and $125 for a private session. It’s also encouraged that parents attend every week, “to gain the full benefits of brain, physical and emotional development”.

Check out the below video of some six-month-old baby boys in China enjoying a similar session:

I have a floatie called a SWIMTRAINER "Classic" for my baby. It can be used for babies as young as 3 months but she lies in it, she is NOT suspended by the neck! My baby absolutely loves it and it has a safety harness so she can't roll out or tip over and she is fully supported. And because she is lying belly down in the water, she has already learnt to kick around the pool. Why wouldn't they just use a SWIMTRAINER, rather than suspend them by the neck??
