Fifi Box knows what the partners of nude sexting AFL players are going through.

Fifi Box, 38, feels bad for Collingwood players Dane Swan and Travis Cloke, whose nude selfies were printed recently in Woman’s Day, but she feels worse for their partners.

She knows what the partners going through — she experienced the same thing when she dated a professional rugby player who sent sexts to other women.

Speaking on Fox FM this morning, Box described the excuse that her ex-boyfriend gave:

“He was a rugby player who played for Sydney Uni rugby. I remember I busted him with stuff on his phone from another girl and he tried to explain to me that when you’re a professional athlete and you have girls throwing themselves at you, it’s like an addictive thing,” she said.

“He said I love you and I love our relationship but girls throw themselves at me and there’s something addictive about that. I forgave him and it kept going until he did it again and then fully cheated on me.”

Box advised any sportsmen hoping to share their genitalia with other women to crop their heads out of photos.

“Admittedly, that wouldn’t have helped for Swanny, necessarily,” she said, referring to the heavily tattoed Swan.

Box said the people who suffer most from this kind of public embarrassment are the men’s partners.

“The two people I really feel for in this are Travis’ fiancee and Swanny’s girlfriend of eight years,” said Box.

What on earth is the appeal in dating sportsmen? Why do women throw themselves at them? Some of my girlfriends used to chase them and they always got treated so badly. And the blokes were complete dumb jerks. Surely men of intellect would be a better catch.

I don't know... the hot bod, the alpha male thing ;) I would have loved to date a footy player back in the day, but we didn't stalk their hangouts back then (or know what they were up to thanks to social media) ... also, lots of girls in their teens and early 20s love bad boys. You usually grow out of it and appreciate the "men of intellect" after being burnt a few times!

If they really are massively into whichever sport the guy plays, its probably understandable as a fan thing but if not.. and the woman is specifically wanting a footballer..it looks a lot like she wants a trophy boy; flash lifestyle and status.

She said he played for the Sydney Uni club, not that he was a Sydney Uni student.
