Ellen Degeneres: 'Kate Middleton is my cousin and I'm going to prove it to her.'

Five years on from Ellen Degeneres’ sensational discovery that she’s related to Kate Middleton, the talk show host is no closer to scoring an invite to a Windsor family BBQ.

But if she has her way, that might change.

Ellen has revealed plans to confront her 15th cousin at Wimbledon this year and force her to acknowledge their family ties.

“She refuses to admit it and I don’t know why,” the talk show host said, according to The Mirror.

“But I am going to be at Wimbledon and if my cousin Kate is there I’m going to bring the DNA chart with me.”

The 58-year-old discovered her royal roots in 2011 via a Boston ancestral research company, which revealed she and Kate are related through a man named Sir Thomas Fairfax and his wife, Agnes Gascoigne, who lived in England in the early 1500s. (Post continues after video.)

Still, it wasn’t enough to earn Ellen an invite to Will and Kate’s nuptials.

“Kate, ‘cuz, let me know where you’re registered,” she joked at the time.

“I have a Pier 1 and a Target real, real close to my house. And let me know if you need me to plan the bachelorette party because I have straws that are shaped like… well, never mind.”

My family is related to Kate too! My mum is Kate's sixth cousin through a woman called Elizabeth Davenport Ashford. Maybe I can get tickets to Ellen now that we are family! My mum was hoping she would get to meet Kate when she was in Australia but they didn't come to Melbourne. She did get a nice letter from Kate's staff though.

You can not make such a declaration without specifying your degrees of Kevin Bacon.
