Shit chef? Here's a pancake recipe you'll actually be able to master.

Everybody loves pancakes.

For this reason, Shrove Tuesday is the happiest day for everybody everywhere.

To celebrate, we have the easiest pancake recipe you will ever make, and tastes just like the fluffy good stuff you’re used to in cafes.

Best of all, it’s so easy you can nip down to the stores and whip this up today, just so long as your office can spare the communal sandwich maker for 20 minutes.

Here is the recipe in full:

1 cup SR Flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 teaspoon of white vinegar
butter for frying

1. Mix flour and sugar together in a bowl. Create a well in centre of the bowl and add the wet ingredients.

2. Whisk together and add extra milk or water until the mix is smooth and thick but still quite runny.

3. Fry a knob of butter in a medium hot pan to melt it, drain excess butter into the mixture and mix it in.

4. Cook pancakes one at a time, let the entire surface of the pancake bubble before you flip.

Eat up and enjoy being the most popular person at work today.

Sugar in pancakes? What sort of madness is this?! The sugar goes on the pancake, not in it!

Agree on not adding sugar to the batter, however, it's butter, lemon juice or jam as a topping - no other substitute or combination is permitted.

I didn't make the pancake rules, but damnit, I'm going to enforce them!

You don't do sugar and lemon juice on top of pancakes? I may have to rethink my entire opinion on you, RD!
