So, it's going to be extremely awkward when Donald Trump meets Kate Middleton.

President Donald Trump has had quite a tumultuous first week in office.

But, unfortunately, the sheer awkwardness of a Donald Trump presidency doesn’t seem to be slowing down. On Friday, Queen Elizabeth II invited the former reality star to visit the British royal family later this year.

You know, the same way Barack Obama did last year, when Prince George was being all ridiculous in his dressing gown.

"I like this man mummy," you can imagine little George saying. "He's fun and he can dance and sing and he isn't even judgey that I'm in my dressing gown."

"Oh, I know Georgie-Porgie," you can hear Princess Kate reply.

Fast forward one year, and George and his gorgeous little sister Charlotte are going to have this guy try to shake their hands:

But the entire situation is made infinitely more awkward by the fact that years ago, Donald Trump shared some particularly offensive thoughts about Kate Middleton.

Back in 2012, Middleton was holidaying on a private island when paparazzi snapped photos of her topless. Those who took the photos have been accused of stalking the couple, and taking the pictures when the couple believed they were the only ones at the hotel. In the last few weeks they've gone on trial for the incident and could face jail time and a significant fine.

But Donald Trump thought it was fair game.

In September 2012, he tweeted, "Who wouldn't take Kate's picture and make lots of money if she does the nude sunbathing thing. Come on Kate!"

Of course, he hasn't taken the tweet down or anything, because that would suggest some level of self-awareness.

Given today's context, a number of people have replied to his original tweet. One woman pointed out the irony with Trump's comment, writing "didn't you get mad at CNN for using a picture of your face that you didn't like?"

Very true.

Personally, I can't wait to see the photos from that meeting. I feel like George is going to stomp on some toes and Charlotte is going to cry uncontrollably.

I also can't wait to contrast the way Kate Middleton looks at Donald Trump, with the way she looks at Justin Trudeau.

I'm sure Trumpy will get on really well with Prince Phillip though. If Prince Phillip was allowed on twitter by Queeny I reckon he would tweet even more reductive things than Trump looking at his back catalogue of gaffes!

I'd love to see her snub his completely. He is such a pig and no one could really blame her from not wanting to be in the same room as him, given his comments.
I do think that people are going to have to start being rude. Trump doesn't deserve anything else and I fail to see why people should have to indulge him.
