David Duchovny and Tea Leoni are getting a divorce after 17 years of marriage.
The Californication star reportedly filed divorce papers this week, citing an irretrievable breakdown of their relationship as the reason for the split.
Duchovny and Leoni have had a tumultuous relationship. The pair married in 1997, but separated in 2008 while Duchovny attended rehab for what was alleged at the time to be a sex addiction. They rekindled their romance in 2011.
The couple have two children, Madelaine West, 15, and Kyd Miller, 12. Duchovny and Leoni will have joint custody of their children, although Leoni will hold primary physical custody.

and here was i thinking they got divorced after he went to rehab.
i guess it's sad, but we need to wake up to the fact that relationships don't all last a lifetime, and when one is cheating (debatable whether it is a legitimate addiction or no), it should probably be sooner rather than later.
I hope she goes back into acting. I loved her sitcom.
