Dave Hughes certainly didn’t hold back with his Logies opening monologue this year.

The 47-year-old comedian took aim at everyone and everything from Barnaby Joyce’s tell-all Channel Seven interview to Karl Stefanovic’s Uber incident.

But there was onevery important celebrity that Hughesy forgot to roast.

“I f*cking forgot to talk about Grant Denyer,” Hughes told news.com.au backstage.

Yep, that’s right, Hughes forgot to mention the Gold Logie winner himself.

Hughes mentioned other Gold Logie nominees in his speech, but it wasn’t until he sat back down that he realised he had forgotten Denyer altogether.

Speaking tonews.com.au, Hughes revealed the joke he intended to use on the Family Feud host.

“It was like, ‘your quiz show’s been axed but you got another one at Channel 10. For you, it’s just like rally cars. You drive one into the tree, you crawl out of the wreck and get into another one,” Hughes said.

No one was safe when Hughes took the stage, not even himself – Hughes roasted his decision to buy a house fromThe Blockwithout telling his wife last year.

“None of you people have invested as much in Australian TV as I have,” Hughes said.

He also joked about Karl Stefanovic’s Ubergate scandal, when Karl and his brother Peter were recorded in an Uber complaining about theirTodayco-workers.

Karl Stefanovic was well prepared to deal with Hughes’ onslaught, flashing an advertisement for 13 CABS to the cameras.
