The Morcombe family have shared some much-deserved, magical news.

After dealing with years of tragedy, the Morcombe family has announced some much-deserved happy news with the engagement of eldest son Dean.

He will marry his long-term girlfriend Alice Webb after proposing during a recent holiday to New Zealand.

Dean popped the question on the fjords of Milford Sound a few days ago and his family is reportedly overjoyed.

“They’re always smiling and they are a happy couple," his father Bruce told the Courier Mail.

“It was very noticeable, the change in Dean’s attitude, and he seem very happy and I’m sure Alice is as well.

“The proposal and engagement has been very welcome by the family indeed.”

Webb is a nurse at Caboolture Hospital and the couple have been dating for just short of a year.

Earlier this year the Morcombes' other son Bradley, Daniel's twin, had his first child with his wife Anna.

Daniel was 13 when he was abducted and murdered on his way home from school on the Sunshine Coast by Perth man Brett Peter Cowan.
