Chloe Maxwell on motherhood, tough love and gratitude.

Pass the tissues…

Chloe Maxwell has always been close to her mum – but it wasn’t until she became a mother herself that she realised just how much her mum had put up with over the years.

The TV presenter and former model opens up to Mamamia about her mother, who worked three jobs to support her family. She also chats about the challenges of raising a son with autism and the importance of mothering kids with a bit of “tough love” now and then.

And keep the tissues handy – because there’s even a few tears involved.

How has your relationship with your mum changed?

Just as an FYI, you should know that this post is sponsored by Michael Hill. But all opinions expressed by the author are 100% authentic and written in their own words.

Jewellery is a mark of love, it says someone loves you, even if that someone is yourself.

When given it’s an expression of love. Young love, old love, motherly love, straight love, gay love, forbidden love, brotherly love, it seals love, nurtures, creates, kindles and declares love for all the world to see.

We don’t care what kind of love you’re into, we just want to make sure you get your fair share.

My mother did the same thing and worked three jobs for us. So grateful.

My mum was the not-so favourite parent. She was really reaaallly strict. But now shes the opposite, maybe just a little too nosy for her own good. But our relationship is much better now, since I'm older.
