Charlie Bear’s Gift – RBWH Foundation, Charity Auction was formed in memory of our son Charlie who was diagnosed with a severe brain condition in utero at the 19 weeks scan. We didn’t find out it was so bad until he had a MRI where we discovered that Charlie virtually had no brain left. We were told by the doctors they didn’t think he would make it home so with this prognosis – the RBWH helped us get many special memories with Charlie.
Charlie sadly passed away in our arms at just 10 weeks old; the doctors believe Charlie had a rare blood condition that destroys the brain. We received amazing support and care during the 9 weeks we were at the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital and want to the thank them for the great care they gave Charlie.
The auction is all in honour of Charlie and will take place on what would have been his first Birthday in November. All funds are going directly to NICU, SCN and a milk bank they are in the process of setting up.
