How much would you need in your wallet to replicate Kate Middleton‘s wardrobe?
She owns many a Zara, Jigsaw and Reiss dress which gives us hope that it’s possible, but there’s also the occasional piece by Alexander McQueen, Jenny Packham or Jimmy Choo in the Duchess of Cambridge‘s collection to take that hope away.
According the Daily Mail, Kate Middleton’s wardrobe expenses have totaled around $54,000 this year.

And this week, the public will get an insight into the real cost of Kate when Charles opens up his accounts for the first time since she joined the family.
Prince William does not fund his wife’s wardrobe because, ostensibly, he earns only £44,000 a year as an RAF helicopter pilot.

Honestly, it's reasonable given that she has to wear something different to each event/dinner/charity ball/gala/interview. Think about it, a luxury Hermes bag costs nearly that much already.
I spend about $20,000 a year on my attire and still it's enough but I would always love more (Christian Grey where are you? lol). This includes makeup, accessories, shoes, underwear, sports clothes, sleep clothes, wedding dresses, everything. If I was made to wear a hat to every event add an extra $10,000 to this; add a few extra double grands for designer bags for every occasion to match your shoes (I only own about 5 designer bags which is not ridiculous). I don't own any one of a kind luxury pieces so you can imagine how much 'being a women' costs to our economy.... eg hair, waxes, facials, not to imagine having to go to the gym 4 times a week lol if only....
given that Kate doesn't work, who else would pay for her clothes? Also, a bit rich saying William's income only 44,000 pounds as he just inherited an enormous amount from Diana.... and I'm sure he gets money from other sources.
