American actress Carrie Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, is in a stable condition after suffering a a massive heart attack during a plane flight from London to Los Angeles on Friday.
Fisher, 60, is in the is in the intensive care unit of a Los Angeles hospital. Her mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, 84, tweeted an update on her daughter’s condition this morning.
“Carrie is in stable condition.If there is a change,we will share it. For all her fans & friends. I thank you for your prayers & good wishes,” her tweet read.
Fellow Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, who played Princess Leia's twin brother Luke Skywalker in the space trilogy, also tweeted about Fisher's condition.
"As if 2016 couldn't get any worse... Sending all our love to Carrie Fisher," his tweet read.
He followed this with a Star Wars meme of Princess Leia that says: "Dear Santa: All I want for Christmas is The Force to be strong with Carrie."
As well as her acting career, Fisher is known for her work as an author and screenplay writer.
In 1987, Fisher released a semi-autobiographical novel Postcards from the Edge, which was also turned into a screenplay. She did a similar thing with the nonfiction novel Wishful Drinking in 2008, which is also based on her life.
Only last month, Fisher's memoir The Princess Diarist was released. It's based on the diaries Fisher kept while filming the original Star Wars trilogy in the 70s and 80s.
Fisher has one daughter, Billie Catherine Lourd, 24, with talent agent Bryan Lourd. Fisher and Lourd ended their relationship when in 1994.
