Carrie Bickmore's shout-out to her favourite fashion designer, a 25-year-old from Adelaide.

Carrie Bickmore has revealed the secret behind her flawless red carpet record, introducing her fans to her favourite fashion designer.

The Project host gushed about designer Paul Vasileff in a recent post to Instagram, congratulating him on winning South Australia’s Young Australian of the Year.

“He has made so many of my favourite gowns over the years. He is patient, kind and damn talented!!! Congrats Paul and good luck at the national awards xxxx,” Carrie wrote.

Paul Vasileff, the designer and owner of couture label Paolo Sebastian, created the 35-year-old’s outfits for the Logies for the past few years as well as for magazine shoots.

Yep – he’s the man responsible for the stunning dress she wore on the night of her Gold Logie win in 2015.

The 26-year-old started his own label when he was just aged 16 and has since become an internationally recognised designer, known for his intricately detailed gowns with romantic silhouettes.

In an interview with Adelaide’s The Advertiser, the designer said that he was able to launch his label with the support of his family, after learning to sew at a young age from his grandmother.

“When I started I had no idea what I was doing, I was still in school. I literally just wanted to start a fashion business and my own label,” Vasileff said.

“I was really lucky with the support I got from family and friends. I had that goal in sight and I still have that same goal in sight.”

Vasileff said his goal was to create fairy-tale experiences for the wearers of his gowns, which included many brides.

“At the end of the day I just wanted to make people feel special in the dresses I made,” he said.

“And I love making those statement pieces that when girls it put on, they have that Cinderella moment and I love being able to do that.

“I can’t describe what that feeling is but it’s really special.”

Carrie Bickmore isn’t the only celebrity fan of the fashion designer – Australian stars including Megan Gale, Delta Goodrem and Ada Nicodemou have also graced the red carpet wearing his gowns.

Vasileff has also designed dresses for international celebrities attending awards nights, and a custom-made corset for a Vogue photo shoot with Kim Kardashian.

The Adelaide man did suffer a stumble when a Paolo Sebastian gown tore when US TV presenter Giuliana Rancic was wearing it at the Oscars in 2014.

However, there were no hard feelings, with Vasileff apologising for the tear and sending the star a complimentary gown, which she graciously accepted.

“I’m all about Australian designers right now… I feel princess-y — a girl deserves to feel like a princess once in a while,” Rancic said.
