Fifteen years after everyone’s favourite perpetually single gal first graced our screens, making us laugh and cry with her deplorable life decisions, Bridget Jones is back and ready to make all new mistakes.
This time the stakes are higher, because she’s pregnant. And the father could be either Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) or Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey) AKA McDreamy.
Personally, that’s a conundrum I’d like to have.
The trailer begins with Bridget meeting a gorgeous American, Jack. But, of course, relationships can never be easy for Bridget, and when she reunites with Mark, the sparks fly YET AGAIN. I mean, it’s Colin Firth. There’s something wrong with you if sparks don’t fly.
When she finds herself pregnant, she has no clue who the father is. And Emma Thompson, who plays her OBGYN, appears to be completely on board with the confusing situation.
Please let it be Mark. He’s been there the WHOLE TIME and would make the best awkwardly British dad.
We’ll know soon enough – Bridget Jones’s Baby will be released later this year.
