Fashion Designer L’Wren Scott has been found dead of a suspected suicide in her New York apartment.
The long-term girlfriend of Mick Jagger was 49 years old.
Mick Jagger, who is in Perth about to embark on an Australian tour, is said to be shocked and devastated.
The designer – favoured by stars like Christina Hendricks and Oprah Winfrey as well as the likes of Michelle Obama, Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss – was found by her assistant at 10am local time.
The Daily Mail reports that she was in financial trouble and was forced to cancel her London Fashion Week show in January.
The New York City Police Department said: “A 49-year-old female was found this morning at 10.05am at 200 11th Avenue. She was unconscious.”
“She was pronounced dead on arrival by the emergency medical services. The investigation is ongoing. We are awaiting medical examiners to determine the cause of death. At this devastating time for Ms Scott’s family and friends, we request that their privacy be respected.”

So sad, can't help wondering if being over 45 and childless was another contributing factor?
Why do you automatically think her being childless has something to do woth it? There are women of the same age who have children of their own, but hate motherhood and feel so "trapped" that they too kill themsrlves.
