Brad Pitt has opened up about wife Angelina Jolie’s ‘scary’ decision to have a double mastectomy.

The Jolie-Pitt’s seem to have it all figured out.

In every (rare) interview they’ve ever given, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been candid and honest about the surprising difficulties of raising six children, and the fierce work ethic they rely on to get through months of filming and directing.

But while Angelina has often reached out to women suffering at the hands of breast cancer, and had her own breasts, fallopian tubes, and uterus removed from 2013 to 2015 as a preventative measure, we’ve never heard from Brad about how that decision affected their family.

Until he spoke to the US Today show recently.

Angelina's choice to have a double mastectomy weighed heavy on his mind, but mainly because of the complications that could have ensued during surgery.

“This was her charge, no question. It’s a scary decision. There’s many things that can go wrong and go (in) many different directions.”

But ultimately he knew it was the right decision not only for his wife, but his family, if they wanted some sort of security and peace of mind.

“Whatever’s got to be done to keep the family together and keep the family together as long as possible is gonna be done,” Brad said.

A humbled Angelina spoke up during the Today show interview, adding: “I knew through the surgeries that he was on my side and that this wasn’t something where I was gonna feel less of a woman, because my husband wasn’t gonna let that happen."

They truly are a match made in heaven.
