Best and worst + the pics you need to see this week

Hmmm. Some weeks – many weeks – just truck along hardly rating a blip on the radar of your life. And then other weeks, well let’s just say all kinds of craziness occurs and you get to the end of it feeling like you’ve been caught up in a freak storm.  Yep. It’s been one of those types of weeks for us at Mamamia!

The post that (unexpectedly) made us all laugh was the story on everyone’s public transport nightmares. Some of the  shared stories are funny (JJ was tut-tutting two drunk men on the train until she realised one of them was her uncle!). Some are lovely (like Girly who was serenaded!). And some were just plain gross (the story of the guy clipping his nails all over the floor. Noice.)

The post that has us cheering had to be the news that photoshopped images of Julia Roberts (much as we love her) were banned for being ‘misleading’.

The post that got us thinking was about why women tend to have more relationship regrets than men. Really? Oh yeah.  And you shared your stories of abusive relationships, affairs and more.

Meanwhile debate is still raging over this post: the politician and the aqua high heels. You should join in, we’d love to hear your opinion

And the post that made us reminisce had to be that moment when you realise  your childhood is over.  Reading the comments on that one was like a walk down memory lane.

And now it’s time to look back at your week. This has become Mamamia’s favourite tradition (and our longest running). This is the place  where anything goes – feel free to rejoice in your triumphs, or seek comfort for your tribulations.   This is the Mamamia community at its very best so come in and join us…

What were the best and worst parts of your week and what is on your mind?

Best: My father and my birthday today. I'm 16 now and cannot really believe it. The years just seem to be going quicker and quicker! I'd be grateful for any tips you might have for me on life as I always think of what direction I will be heading in on my birthday.

Best #2: Went to my first concert on the 30th (though technically we got home on the 31st as we got home at nearly one in the morning). It was a Randy Newman concert and I went with my Dad (although my Uncle was there but closer to the stage). It was brilliant. I find myself reminiscing about my childhood as I recognised many of his songs from my Dad playing them in his workshop while I was playing outside as a child. It seemed quite appropriate given it was my last day being 15.

Best #3: I got my results for my V.C.E subject (Design Technology). I received 100% for my exam, A+ for my port folio, A for another assessment and B for production (as I hadn't managed to finish). I'm glad all that work paid off.

Worst: My ex boyfriend and I broke up since I last wrote. I still care about him deeply as a friend and I initiated the mutual agreement to stop seeing each other. I want us to stay friends but don't think it will happen. Still, I am kind of glad we decided to part because it wasn't going anywhere. We went out for about three months and he wouldn't act like boyfriend at all. It was like we were close friends but called it a relationship. And he began to seem almost like a brother to me, so I knew it wouldn't ever work. So now I'm going single to the school formal.

Worst #2: There was a fatal car crash just outside of the turn off to our street. The S.E.S where out there redirecting traffic. The poor person's car lit on fire after they'd crashed into a fence. They haven't identified who it was yet. I really feel for their family and friends.

I wish everyone struggling all the very best and I really hope it improves for you soon.

xoxo xoxo

Happy birthday, sweet girl. You don't need any advice other than to stay as wise as you already are! :)
