Best and worst of the week

We have been  getting into the Christmas spirit on Mamamia and we think we’ve got it pretty much covered with all your tips for getting through the big day here, recipe ideas here, quirky traditions here and help for all those dreading Christmas here.

And for those very last gift ideas don’t forget to click here for a full list of ideas, here for some charity ideas, here for beauty ideas and here for some excellent reading ideas.

We have also had some cracker galleries this week – check out the beautiful Miranda Kerr pregnant photos, the must see looks of the week , the OMG  fashion looks of 2010 and of course the week in pictures

As we step into the long Christmas weekend let’s reflect on the week that we have just had.  Here is your chance to share with the Mamamia community – your best, your worst or whatever else is on your mind.

This Best and Worst Friday tradition is a true reflection of the Mamamia community, your kindness,  generosity, sympathy and insight never cease to amaze me.

BEST: I took the kids into the city to see the David Jones windows and we were meeting friends on the Town Hall steps. As we sat there in the bright morning sun, my eldest son complained that he’d forgotten his sunglasses. A homeless man sitting nearby overheard him and came over to give him his. “Merry Christmas” he said. I was incredibly moved and humbled. Such a special moment.

WORST: Disorganised in the most epic way.

On my mind: Thinking of all those who are going to be doing it tough on Christmas day. Many years ago, a couple of weeks after a late miscarriage, I had one of my most bleak Christmases ever. To everyone who is going to be spending their Christmas in a way they would never have wanted or chosen, we’re all thinking of you and sending you love and support. This too will pass.

A bit late but better late than never!

Best: santa came early Xmas Eve for us as we were traveling a fair way that day to the in laws. Biggest smiles on my girls faces, but their gratitude and humility blew us away. Sorry, but I have awesome kids lol.
And I got some fantastic books for Xmas. I am in book heaven:)

Worst: a very stressful working week in the lead up to Xmas, poor sleep and anxiety as a result. Shit timing from my bosses quite frankly, to have to start a major project on Tues and have it finished by Thurs. Did I mention I only work 3 days a week, and Wed ain't one of them. Merry fricken Xmas you mean spirited employer:(

OMM: I miss my mum every day but more atXmas. She made it special, always, and I try to do the same for my girls. So, OMM is all those who are missing loved ones at this time of year. Take a moment to greive, it's OK to do that xxxx
