Mamamia's Best and Worst: What's happening in your world?

By ROSIE WATERLAND

Welcome to Best and Worst! This is the fab little corner of Mamamia where you can let it all hang out and talk about whatever’s on your mind.

I haven’t hosted in a while but I’m sure this goes without saying: there will be GIFs.

So, need someone to kick things off?

My Worst: A friend of mine who works in a bar had a gentleman douche-canoe approach her and tell her that he thought she was really pretty, but it was ‘a shame about the fat thighs.’

She cried and I got mad. Exactly like this:

But then we drank all the wine and watched all the TV and felt better about all the things.

My Best: It hasn’t happened yet but I’m SO excited: My 10-year-old niece Allira is coming to stay with me for the weekend and we always have the best time. Last time she was at my place I imparted my brilliant fort-building wisdom:

Obviously our weekends together are the height of maturity.

So that’s my week’s best and worst. What’s yours?

This week we showcased some brilliant Smart Solutions for your home office to make your life a million times easier. You can watch the video here and see the gallery of tips below. Thanks to the all new Kia Rondo.

Worst:
Not articulating myself properly with a few comments I left on this site and being really mis-understood by them.

Best: When someone you don't know sticks up for you and you really, really, appreciate it. Xxxx

Best: Wonderful day with my toddler at the park and shops. He was an angel and the weather was amazing. Baby number two due within a month and maternity leave starting next week.

Worst: Husband and I earn very good money but he is a spendthrift who looks the finer things in life and is happy to spend loads of money on his desires whilst my child and I live on tiny bits of crumbs he gives here and there. It drives me mad and he counts my $150 weekly grocery shop as my spending money. I can only take 6 months maternity leave because he purchased a new european luxury car and against my wishes (i was very upset and did everything I could do stop this but he earns enough money to buy it without my signature.) I wanted to buy a new pram (tandem one) which was $300 but no, have to buy second hand off eBay for $100.00 as it's not deemed a worthy purchase, yet last week he spent $259.00 on supplements at Vitamin King in Chatswood! I know this is very first world problems but it is eating me up. We have a great marriage otherwise.

Sorry for the rant.

He counts the weekly groceries as your spending money?
Make him buy the groceries.

Honestly I am sick of women that put up with this.

This seems completely unfair and in my opinion, your husband is very selfish.
If he can justify all those expensive things for himself and you get almost nothing, then he is being a douche.
I hope you aren't offended by that, but you, and your kids deserve waaaayyyyy better!

Take care- I had the same situation with my ex husband. The resentment will grow towards him if you don't address this issue.

I really don't mean to be rude, but he sounds like a complete fool!
I would have left long ago...

Positive advice - talk to him and see if you can get through to him about the complete imbalance in how you spend money.
