The Bachelor's Alex has been hit with "nasty, venomous" behavior since the show aired.

With reality TV fame comes a lot of responsibility…or something like that.

Or maybe it’s, with reality TV fame comes a lot of online hate.

Yes, that’s definitely it.

Just ask 24-year-old Alex Nation, who has earned herself plenty of Twitter hate while she competes for the love of Bachelor Richie Strahan.

She might have made the final three, and seems to have a tight grip on Richie’s heart, but that doesn’t mean the rest of the country share those loved-up feelings.

Fans of the show have been quick to label Alex as "the crazy one", saying her feelings for Richie border on "obsessive".

So how is Alex - who is single mum to five-year-old Elijah - dealing with the backlash?

"I don't read into that stuff. I've seen all of those memes, but when it comes to that sort of thing, I know who I am," she told Mamamia.

She also wants to remind viewers that what you see on the show is not always what is happening behind the scenes.

The one and only Keira makes an appearance on this week's episode of Bach Chat.

"Viewers only see snippets and they are only shown what they want you to see. At the end of the day, it is a television show and there needs to be characters and storylines and I completely understand that," she said.

Alex said the negativity is "water off a duck's back" for her, and that the "venomous" comments aren't a reflection of her personality.

"I'm all for a healthy opinion, I mean, by all means, have your favourites! But when it comes to really nasty, venomous stuff, that's only a reflection of that person and not me. I don't let myself get all worried and upset by stuff like that," she said.
