Eight month-old-baby 'grabbed from her mother'.

A mother is reeling after her eight-month-old baby was nearly abducted from its pram on Friday at Penrith in Sydney’s west.

The 19-year-old mother was pushing her child along High Street at around 10am when she was approached by the unknown woman.

Police said the mother paused to pull a bottle from the pram when the woman allegedly reached down, unbuckled the child from its harness and picked it up.

The mother was somehow able to take the child back and flee the scene without further harm.

Police are now hunting a Caucasian woman who is around 30 years old, 185cm tall, with dark brown hair.

The woman is believed to be have been wearing black pants at the time of the attempted abduction.

Police believe there are witnesses to the crime who are yet to come forward.

Seriously what the hell is the world coming to? My partner always jokes that I won't let the pram out of arms reach - like as if someone would grab a baby but look at what we have here!! So scary!
