IT'S CONFIRMED: Australia, meet your 2018 Bachelorette.

Australia got a jam-packed Bachelor in Paradise finale. There was love, there was a proposal, there was an almost proposal, and then just when we thought we’d had enough love and excitement for one night – the next Bachelorette was announced.

Ali Oetjen, we’ve been told, will be Australia’s fourth Bachelorette.

Moments after Sam proposed to Tara, a voice-over announced that Ali was “giving love another chance” as our next Bachelorette.

Which, if you hadn’t heard the now-obviously-proven-true rumours that she and Grant had broken up post-show, may have seemed a little jarring, given they just erm, expressed their love and commitment for each other.

Over on The Bachelorette Australia’s official Instagram page, we were given somewhat of an explanation.

“After appearing on Bachelor In Paradise, unfortunately, distance proved too big a hurdle for Ali & Grant.

“Eager to make it third time lucky in love, Ali is ready to call the shots.”

Ali appeared on Australia’s first season of the Bachelor and came second runner-up in the competition for Tim Robards.
