Jesinta Campbell shares plans for her upcoming wedding to Buddy Franklin.

It’s been quite a ride for Jesinta Campbell and her fiance, Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin.

After announcing their engagement in December 2014, AFL player Franklin faced a mental health crisis. The pair made headlines when Franklin withdrew from the AFL season, a time Campbell described as ‘tough and challenging’.

“When he [Franklin] was in care I was by myself for four weeks,” Campbell, 24, said during a Women in Conversation round table with David Jones. “My family were all away, I did everything by myself. I did not drop a single one of my work commitments. I showed up. Sometimes I was a nervous wreck before showing up.”

However, 2016 is looking brighter for the former Miss Universe Australia, although she has kept tight-lipped about her upcoming nuptials. Until now.

Speaking to The Courier Mail, Campbell said the affair will be ‘low-key’.
“We’ll probably just elope, keep it very simple,” the model told The Courier Mail. “It won’t be a Big Fat Greek Wedding. I’ll just come back and be Mrs Franklin and that will be it.”

The David Jones ambassador caused a stir earlier this year when she was seen visiting the Vera Wang showroom in New York, with speculation this could be her preferred designer for her wedding dress.

Campbell also hinted her and Franklin may relocate to the Gold Coast in the near future.

“There’s a bit of a campaign at home – I really want Buddy to play for the Gold Coast Suns,” she told the audience at a David Jones event in the Gold Coast yesterday.

“I’m like, ‘Come on, I want to move back to the Gold Coast!’”

There’s no word yet on the date of Campbell’s impending nuptials.
