Amy Schumer’s having a pretty rad year.
She’s gone from underdog to Queen Bee, complete with her own movie and Jennifer Lawrence as a bestie.
You’d think that having her own Emmy-award winning Comedy Central show and writing and starring in a hit movie would be enough, but apparently what Schumer really wanted was to host Saturday Night Live.
Schumer’s very first appearance on the comedy institution has received a typically rapturous response.
Schumer delivered an extra-long opening monologue, which covered everything from Bradley Cooper to Hillary Clinton’s drink of choice.
She was particularly scathing about the influence of “America’s first family”, the Kardashians, as role models for little girls.

“We have to be a role model for these little girls, because who do they have? All they have really is the Kardashians. Is that a great message for little girls? A whole family of women who take faces they were born with as a light suggestion? No!”
She added: “We used to have Khloe. Khloe was ours, right? Whenever there’s a group of women, you identify with one of them… but then Khloe, she lost half her body weight. She lost a Kendall! We have nothing. I want good role models.”
Schumer also ridiculed America’s gun obsession, which would have been funny if it wasn’t so terrifyingly accurate.

I think she is so popular because she is so relatable to most women, very refreshing for Hollywood.
