5 family friendly, iron-rich meals for extra energy.

School is back and kids need lots of energy to keep up with their busy days. When my children get home from school all they want to do is eat and play… no rest for the wicked. So, I like to make sure they eat healthy, delicious, iron-rich dinners to power them up for the next day. Food is fuel, and never more than when you are a child who doesn’t stop. Here are some of the best meat recipes for children.

Monday: Veal Scaloppine

This is one of our favourite dinners. It’s iron-rich and comes with hot chips. My rule at the dinner table is one bite of veal for every chip, and no dessert unless two of the vegetables are eaten. Sometimes this works.

Tuesday: Extra mild beef chilli

This extra mild beef and bean chilli is so delicious. It’s perfect for kids who love the spaghetti sauce more than the spaghetti and you can add in any veggies they like.

Wednesday: Inside-out lasagne

The name alone with have children intrigued. This is just lasagne, a little out of regular order. My kids love extra sauce on their lasagne and this recipe sure does deliver.
