Open post of the week. What's on your mind?

Friends! It’s been ages since I hosted Open Post. I’ve missed you all, because Open Post is my absolute favourite of the week – a chance for everyone to catch up and share what’s been going on in their lives.

I’ve got so much to tell you, so I’m glad we’re catching up. You see – last month, I took advantage of the fact that uni doesn’t start back until March, and booked myself some flights to Canada for an extended holiday.

I was largely planning to bum around hostels and hang out with my brother, who lives in Vancouver. But I ended up at a ski resort called Big White, which is just about ridiculously perfect, as far as ski resorts go.

Think: no crowds and loads of snow. Many hot tubs to soothe weary muscles, and many, many lovely ski-resorty people.

While here, I’ve:

– Gained a ski instructors’ qualification, which is a definite tick off the bucket list;

– Eaten more burgers than I care to admit;

– Skied a double black diamond run named “The Cliff”, which really says it all about how spectacularly terrifying it is;

– Did an avalanche course and terrified myself even more;

– Attempted to learn how to snowboard;

– Spent far too much time in hot tubs;

– Hiked into the backcountry and conquered my own mountain (ignore the Canadian flag, I didn’t have access to an Australian one);

– Bought just about all of Sephora. Yaaaaay Sephora.

Sadly, it’s back to reality next week. While I’m excited to get back to a place where fresh vegetables are readily accessible, I’ll miss this place; it’s crazy how much a major life change can teach you about yourself, especially when said major life changes involve scary experiences.

What’s going on in your world?
