These engagement photos involve a coffin. You must see them.

Everybody else go home. This couple wins at getting attention-grabbing engagement photos.

There’s the old ‘two heads peeking out from behind a tree’ theme. Or the ‘linking our hands together in the shape of a heart’ theme. There’s been the insufferable Love Actually-style holding up of signs. But in all the recent ‘look how cute we are we’re engaged here is a cute photo because we’re so cute and please let this go viral’ posts on social media, no engagement announcement has involved a death theme. With coffins.

UNTIL NOW WOOP WOOP.

Jenny Tay is a funeral home director. Her husband-to-be, Darren Cheng, is a grief counsellor. So naturally, when the Singaporean couple decided to get married, they chose to share the beautiful news with this epic, coffin-style photo shoot:

Speaking to Singapore news outlet The Straights Times, Tay (who runs the family business, Direct Funeral Services), said it all came down to what they loved:

When couples take wedding pictures, many of them think of something significant and meaningful to them – their favourite cafe, the place where they first met. Both of us are very passionate about our jobs, so I thought, why not?”

Yeah. Why not? Even with the coffin, the pictures are actually incredibly beautiful. A little on the eerie side, but beautiful:

If anyone can outdo coffin-themed engagement photos, please let us know. That is surely something we all need to see.
