Denim diapers. Does my bum look big in this nappy?

Denim nappies. Duh

Why yes. Yes it does. But I think that’s the point of a nappy. Is it not?

We don’t take fashion very seriously here on Mamamia and recently we have covered the real “bottom end” of the spectrum with a look at not just vajazzling but the all important butt crack cover.  So men and women below the waist? Covered.

Now it seems that we need to dicuss how best to dress babies’ bottoms.  No need for glitter but how about some street cred?  I mean what baby wants to be seen out and about in a white nappy? That’s sooo, like, dag city.

Huggies  in the US designed a range of denim inspired nappies as part of their $200,000 contribution to Jeans for Genes Day in 2009, and have had a denim range in Israel since 2007.  Their new “Little Movers” range is the first of it’s type available in the United States and will only be on sale for a limited period from June to July 2010.

According to Kimberley Clarke, the makers of Huggies

“Jeans have always been a Mommy fashion must-have, but now it’s time for their little ones to steal the style,  The design helps babies stay trendy while keeping dry with the same revolutionary design and proven leakage protection that moms have come to know and trust from the Huggies brand.”

I’m not aware of any plans to introduce jeans-nappies in Australia permanently although if there are, let’s hear about them. Why ARE all nappies white, when you think about it? I don’t know about babies stealing style or even HAVING style but I’m not averse to mixing it up a bit. Lord knows after so many years of changing them, I’d like a little variety…..
