She’s been named as Number 1 on Vanity Fair’s international best-dressed list, which is voted by more than 2000 fashion industry professionals and journalists.

I’d like to see the “25 Best-Dressed List” amongst the people who DON’T have much money.
Often it’s just “Designer-Wars” and you only see people in the spotlight buying style from a hanger……….I’m more interested in seeing what people choose from their own wardrobe. It can be an insight into who they really are.

Is it just me or is almost every woman on the list bar a couple wearing outfits that look rather wrong? I’ve seen many of the people photographed in much lovelier outfits in the past. It’s like mamamia selected the worst outfits they have ever worn, horrible patterns, unflattering colours, sequins, ruffles, and illfitting clothes. C’mon Mamamia fess up was this deliberate?

I flicked through the Vanity Fair Best Dressed gallery. My thoughts:
Although I had never heard of her before, I thought Farida Khelfa (slides 41-43) looked the most stylish of all.
How much of a dream job would it be to be Erika Bearman, Senior Vice President of Global Communications at Oscar de la Renta?! (slides 62-64) *sigh
Diane Kruger (slides 51-53) looks like she’s been watching Sex and the City reruns and been all inspired by Carrie.
While I didn’t personally love all the styles and choices, good on Vanity Fair for including men and women, and a very good age range. Often, people best know their style, taste, cuts and shape as they age, and sometimes make bolder choices.
The images made me want to step it up and make more effort.

No way… yes, she looks lovely and like a princess but she does wear too many pastels, looks yuk in yellow, and sometime looks like she belongs on the Bold and the Beautiful. Totally love her though and think she is doing an amazing job but I would like to own Sarah Murdoch’s wardrobe or Jodi Gordon’s. They are both cool and edgy but always look stylish and beautiful. And controversially, I love how Lara Bingles dresses – most of the time.

I love that she doesn’t have a stylist and manages to just get it right. You can have all the money in the world, but if you don’t know how to put it all together for the occasion, it means nothing.

1. Is 16 months into marriage still considered newly-wed?
2. It is “newly-wed” (hyphened) according to the Oxford Dictionary.
3. British and international media still refer to Kate Middleton when she has been Katherine, Duchess of Cambridge for the last 16 months. Kate Middleton is incorrect (not that I mind, I haven’t warmed to her, and royals are a pointless relic to me), but she is still mostly called that everywhere.

Considering the number of outfits she’s required to have, the number of designer pieces she wears and the fact that she has to pay for all her outfits (can you believe that – she’s not allowed accept freebies. She’s a Princess for goodness sake!) I think HRH does a fabulous job.
It’s nice to see a young female role model for modest yet stylish dressing!
