More of the Internet's best responses to news of our fresh PM.

#PutOutYourOnions

Australians with an early bedtime have now woken and helped contribute to some of the best reactions to the Liberal spill last night.

NT News was definitely in the running for best response, with this accurate sting this morning:

Other contenders came from unlikely places.

Hulk Hogan accidentally weighed in on the change after Twitter user RealFreeBrowny asked him for advice for his “uncle” Tony who had just lost his job.

Hulk Hogan responded inspiringly, before realising his mistake and promptly blocking RealFreeBrowny.

Osher from The Bachelor Australia even weighed in (in meme form), kindly informing Tony that he did not receive a rose this time.

Others saw a very real threat that faces the position of Prime Minister in Australia, and compared it to the cursed position in book series Harry Potter:

Some, like Journalist Tracey Spicer, were merely relieved that their seemingly endless bout of ironing was finally coming to a close.

Perhaps most impressive though, were those who infiltrated the dark place that is Wikipedia and updated the pages Malcolm Turnbull and Sport in Australia to reflect the spill.

Sadly, both have now been changed back to their original form.

Mamamia previously reported:

Whenever an Australian government looks set to buckle, The People’s Internet game is inevitably stronger than ever.

As news broke on Twitter this afternoon of the impending leadership spill, the response on social media was swift… and it was hilarious.

The hashtag #PutOutYourOnions is now trending nationwide as people pay their respect to Tones and his seemingly insatiable appetite for the humblest of brown veggies.

It’s a real tear-jerker.

Here’s some of our other favourite from across the web… one sec, just let me grab some popcorn.

First, there’s the obvious speculation over whether perhaps someone else could take the reigns.

We’ve certainly churned through a few leaders of late.

There’s the classics.

The jokes that are all too easy.

Yes, Mark Di Stefano,  the answer is clearly yes.

Meanwhile in the Senate…

It’s all happening.

But honestly, we all know who we can thank for this.

More to come, obviously.
