Twilight’s Kristen Stewart has been named by Forbes magazine as the highest paid actress in Hollywood. The 22-year-old has earned around $12.5 million for the last two Twilight films – plus a share of the profits.

I get a bit tired of people saying Kristen Stewart is mopey. Firstly, there are thousands of photos of her smiling and joking, but the media persist in posting photos of her where she’s in between smiles. I swear it’s deliberate! I adore her and have watched lots of interviews and she’s hilarious! She has a very wry sense of humour and is quite self deprecating which I think is endearing. She jokes a lot but she also says that when she’s at award shows or premieres shes terrified of falling over or saying something stupid – so its not really mopeyness, it’s nerves!

I have studiously avoided anything Twilight so I can’t comment on those movies. I was impressed with her performance in “Into the Wild” and the girl can seriously act. I want to see the Huntsman movie and I have heard that she is actually quite good in that. I think that she will be one of those actresses that pick their roles quite carefully, not go too crazy and have quite a long quality career. It will be interesting to see what she does over the next few years.

Eh. I’ve just never really been moved by any of her performances. She made Bella (who I liked in the books) somehow pouty and a bit pathetic, which doesn’t come through in the books. Ah well – it’s what’s popular, I suppose!

I think her performance as Bella was really accurate. She is supposed to suffer by comparison to the vampires which is why she is so desperate to become one. She also states that she feels really awkward around people and that she’s clumsy and shy. All of which Kristen does really well – compare her performances in Twilight to Into the Wild and you see a completely different girl – she is doing what she is told by her director.

Btw if you:ve read the Twilight books that’s how Bella is written, as an awkward, clumsy teenager so that’s the way Kristen played her. I think great acting!

I watched Snow White & The Huntsman and was actually impressed with her performance. She wasn’t half as awkward as she is in the twilight movies, she was quite good to watch.
Also this highest paying stuff is purely for how much they are all paid for their recent movies right? She’s got a few big ones coming out in a row which means she’s higher paid, Jolie has done nothing recently which sets her back etc.

So acting ability has very little relevance to earning power…. If that morose girl can out earn people who can act (and have more than one or two facial expressions) then Hollywood is more ridiculous than usual.
