This is the official music video of The Life Organic by Dom and Adrian. Normally I am not that big into music videos but I found this quite catchy. And absolutely hilarious. It’s all about “trying to be healthy and maintain a balanced social life in the big city.”
It’s a little bit ironic. Okay it’s a lot ironic but I’m sure there are lines in here that we can all relate to. It’s probably not safe for little ears so don’t watch it in front of kids but watch it. And don’t take it too seriously because it’s really funny
Did you relate? Hear anything that sounds familiar?

Painfully true of Bondi and Eastern Subs in general…
Oh and p.s. if you don’t get it.. you clearly haven’t spent enough time in Bondi

Bahahahah!!! I’m from Bondi and this is SO TRUE!!

Sorry, boring. I get the pisstake, but it didn’t even make me smile. Except the coffee order – I get slightly embarrassed when I order a skim decaf mocha, but I don’t like the taste of full-fat milk and caffeinated in the afternoon will affect my sleep.

These guys must have visited my community for research! They vote The Socialist Alliance – For the millions not the millionaires, when they live in million dollar seaside homes! Just hypocrites!

That is so hipster…

I find this whole hipster thing very confusing. I can’t figure it out. I used to do the occasional market stall at West End in Brisbane and all these people show up all dressed down and buy their organic vegies and put them in their woven bag and have their organic coffee and then wander off ’round the corner and get in their massive big 4-wheel drives. I found out one of our customers lived 2 doors up from a friend of mine in this very expensive home in a very expensive street yet to look at her you would think she was share-housing or something. It’s nice that people are making some ethical choices but then they contradict themselves by yes, buying their worn-out looking clothes at General Pants. It makes no sense!

Christ. Way too close to home.

But I thought Alanis Morissette already taught us all about irony. Through song. Oh wait…..

I haven’t watched this clip yet but your comment reminded me of an Irish comedian (maybe it was Ed Byrne? It was a looong time ago that I saw it) who does a whole ‘bit’ about Alanis and that song. Something along the lines of that she was ‘some bent Canadian girl who wouldn’t know irony if she fell over it’. He then dissects the song and goes through what would actually make each of the things she sings about ironic, rather than in his words ‘just plain bad luck’. It’s hilarious, but ever since then every single time I hear that song I can’t help but think of everything he said as she sings it!
A bit of a shame really as I quite liked the song – the comedy bit sucked most of the enjoyment out of it.
Your comment reminded me about it all over again and gave me a smile. He was just so passionate about how she had no clue what irony was that it was really funny to watch!

I love that bit by Ed.
Really Alanis, how big is your sink?
Gets me every time

You want to know what’s ironic about Alanis Morrisette’s Irony song…?
Not one of the scenarios stated in the song are an example of irony. Now, THAT’S ironic!

Cute un-ironic puppies. Best

Lol this was really good – but sooo flight of the conchords!

If this is Australian then why do they have weird English accents? Is it supposed to be ‘ironic’?
loading...
I thought that was an Eastern suburbs accent!
loading...
definitely eastern suburbs accent!
loading...
Def, Eastern Suburb accent! Christian knows his stuff, I’ve been to many a Bondi party with him.
loading...
Huh? I’m from Sydney, I’ve lived in the Eastern Suburbs and I’ve never heard that strange accent.
loading...
Definitely recognised that affected accent—thankfully not all Eastern Suburbs folk have it, but it’s there!
loading...
Totally Eastern Suburbs.
It’s the “I’ve lived in London” accent.

Very Cranbrook!

Oh hey it’s the Fully Sick Rapper!

Love it! How funny!

Hi Lana, no disrespect, but as a gen y, I think you’ve missed the point on this one. The song is actually intended to mock hipster/ bohemian types who are merely eating/ acting healthy to maintain an image. It’s not by any means relating to the balance between maintaining a healthy life and a social life.

Having said that, I agree, the video is hilarious! Thanks for posting

You may be right (I am a bit old) but I took that line from their youtube clip
loading...
Haha, my take on that is that they were being 100% ironic yet again! However, different interpretations.
loading...
Of course they were – that’s why she wrote. It’s ironic straight after that line
