Pippa Middleton’s in a spot of trouble after pictures emerged of her sitting in the front seat of a car in Paris, while her friend jokingly pointed a fake gun at chasing photographers.
Might seem like just a harmless prank, but it could have repercussions for the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister. She wasn’t holding the gun, but all occupants of the car could be facing charges.
UK’s The Sun reported:
The Sun was told: “If the evidence points to her involvement, she will be prosecuted. Anybody involved in the illegal use of a handgun in public is liable to arrest and interrogation.”
The source confirmed that if the gun was REAL, brandishing it in a public place is punishable by up to seven years’ jail “for all parties involved”.
Even if it was FAKE the maximum jail term is two years. The source said: “Certainly if you were in a car and knew somebody was using a gun to warn people off you’d be liable to arrest.”
Apparently the photographer who took the pictures – and who the gun was pointed at – is considering his options.

How is this her fault and why should she be prosecuted? She didn’t do it and I’m sure she can’t tell people what to do just because she’s the Duchess’s sister.
She no doubt has a bit to learn to learn with media considering her status now. This situation is a learning curve for her for sure.

she has no style and unkempt brows i find it so curious that she doesnt take care of either.

What does that have to do with the gun incident?

Agreed! Nothing to do with gun silliness (2 years for a fake gun??), but can she not hire a stylist/borrow her sister’s/pay attention at shows?

….to me it looks like they were cruising around after the attention…although it may have been a harmless ( yet SILLY!) prank…if the average joe blow did this we would not be making excuses for them, we’d be saying it was a silly move and that they should suck it up, deal with consequences and move on – so I in this case I don’t think it’s reasonable to bring the Paparazzi in the equation to justify what happened. I’m not saying that what the Paparazzi do is OK, however if you embrace that lifestyle, you must be surely aware of what you are getting into and there are lots of very famous people who manage it well …Also, if I didn’t want to be photographed, or was wanting to go under the radar, I wouldn’t have zipped around in a car with the top down , maybe a more modest choice of transport perhaps with windows lol

I blame the paparazzi, not Pippa and her friends. They are young and silly, but of course they should not go to jail for playing with a toy gun.
The photographer is clearly following them very closely as they are driving, being unwelcome and invasive. I doubt they could have done or said anything to ward him off – even wielding a pretend gun.
She and her friends deserve their privacy and were just trying to make the paparazzi leave them alone. They didn’t intend any harm at all. I don’t understand the uproar.

What a moron – both the guy holding the ‘gun’ and Pippa for being friends with such a knob.
I don’t think there should be any difference between waving a fake or real gun – the person at the end of the barrel is going to be scared unless it’s obviously a water pistol. I understand that, in Australia, “armed robbery” doesn’t matter whether you’ve got a gun or are pointing your finger in your pocket.
(Bias: I’m a former bank employee.)

I agree, both morons. These people need real jobs in the real world. Pippa, nothing against her as such, she may well be a lovely girl but…… Why is she a celebrity, it is because the gossip mags and photographers have made her one? I just don’t get it. Fed up seeing people who swan around, famous for being famous. ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I think that’s a bit harsh on Pippa. In most of those photos she’s dressed down on her way to work or the airport – hardly posing and begging for attention. Kate signed up to be papped forever – all Pippa did was attend her sister’s wedding!

You wouldn’t see Prince Harry doing that.

Actually I seem to recall Harry wearing a nazi uniform to a fancy dress a few years ago. That was just as stupid. He might have been a bit younger than Pippa and her companions, but he grew up royal – he should have known better.

I liked the description of Pippa as a ‘rich boy’s WAG’. So apt. Look at all the attributes and behaviour of sporting wags – Pippa to a tee. Just because it is a different ‘class’ of people she hangs out with doesn’t make her any less of a WAG type.
(note, many ‘wags’ are simply regular wives and girlfriends, I mean that specific WAG type. Not every footballers wife is a WAG)

Please fix the typo in the caption (pics 5 to 10). I’m sure she wasn’t really at “London Fashion Wee”.

Whenever I see a “bad papparrazi” story like this, I always think of Matt Damon. Why? Well, he is quite famous and I rarely see candid shots of him, his wife, his children. I think privacy is possible even for Pippa Middleton. That gun was probably the dumbest idea ever! Scary to think why a grown up was carrying a fake gun without thinking why he felt it was OK to point at anyone!

I read an interview with Matt Damon where he pointed out that he chooses to live in Florida to minimise paparazzi exposure (he said there’s only he and Shakira that far south!) and that he tends to wear the same outfit every time he takes the kids to the park, or wherever, so that when he does get snapped it’s difficult to date the pictures and it reduces their sale-ability on the celebrity photo market.

I think that’s the reason Russell Crowe is always seen in his Souths jacket.

Cate Blanchette does really well in this respect too.

She is clearly not happy with what is happening. Her friends are obviously idiots who are looking for some cheap publicity and that’s what they got. Unfortunately they had no thought for what it would do to her or her sister. They’re morons. She needs to get new friends.

You’re reprinting stories from The Sun now??

The photos don’t lie.

Doesn’t mean the context (or lack therof) or the details in the text are true. What’s the point of copy and pasting?? We expect that of old media websites, not this one. Content, content, content. Thats what engages new readers and drives page views.

The law is the law. Stupid thing to do!

Oh God. She cant help that she is hot and her sister married a prince. So because of that she is now hounded by photographers everywhere she goes. The gun wasnt a wise idea but I think the use of it highlights how invasive some photographers can be and how frustrated their victims can get.

Pippa is a socialite, and she’s certainly taken advantage of the fame her sister’s relationship has given her (eg. writing an entertaining book, accepting invitations to events). While I disagree with the paparrazi’s actions most of the time, for me Pippa falls into the category of people like Paris Hilton and the Kardashians, people who wouldn’t have a career without paparrazzi and tabloid press.
